Happy 2021
I want to start 2021 by apologizing for being AWOL the last couple of months. My husband has had to deal with health issues that started in late summer and, when finally feeling better, an accident during the Thanksgiving weekend that landed him in the hospital for a few days. We found both our time and energy being consumed by those difficult circumstances. But nothing can keep a good man (and woman) down!!, and 2021 is a New Year. Since Christmas is a time to express gratitude for our many blessings, we were able to celebrate in the right spirit.
These three photos represent the best of our (rather short) holiday season, so I thought i would share them. We did have a snowfall — on Christmas Day! — and although it didn’t stay long, it was so pretty. The second photo shows one of my recently discovered passions — bundt cakes! This one was so fun to make; the cake is actually made with two cake mixes, one chocolate and one white. The white one is tinted with the same colors as the frosting. It not only tasted good, but cutting into the cake revealed a happy surprise. The last photo is of a nativity our daughter gave us several years ago. It is special to us and it was one of the few Christmas decorations that I was able to put out this year. My next posts will be about our yard and garden, but I felt that you should know I haven’t discontinued this blog!! And — Happy 2021!
Final thought:
“In this world, ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” John 16:33 For sure, we have had our share of tribulation in the last few months. But in spite of it all, we were “of good cheer” during the Christmas holiday because He has indeed “overcome the world”. And spring is coming!
