O Christmas Tree(s)
Merry Christmas, Friends! I just have time for one last post before Christmas. I thought I would share some of our trees and how I decorate them. This tree is our main tree in the living room. It is done mostly in glittery white bulbs, with a few red bulbs that friends have given me. Each year I add a little more to the top; the red amaryllis in this photo are red velvet—so beautiful. The angel topper has been in our family since I was little; it always goes at the top of this tree.
The gingerbread tree has it’s home at the end of the kitchen island. The ornaments on this tree have been collected over the years, and also given to me by friends. Each has a story. The stuffed gingerbread tree toppers are from Cracker Barrel; I have them tucked into the top of the pretty bow. The cowboy gingerbread man is the newest addition, acquired at the Gaylord Texan Resort, during a recent trip to Texas. This is my most fun tree.
This tree is in our dining room. It is a flocked tree, and the bulbs are mostly white snowball types or red glitter bulbs, with birds here and there. Along with the little white lights are larger lights that softly fade from one color to another. I have included a photo of one bulb as it fades from green to blue. This tree is invariably a guest favorite. And, yes, those are white doves on the top.
The tree in this photo is in the master bedroom; it is done in silver, gold, green, burgundy and white. The white rose on top is in memory of my mom who loved roses. I have included a close up of one of the clip-on butterflies; this tree is elegant and sophisticated.
The tree with the red bows and red roses is in one of the guest bedrooms. The painting of roses, by my mom, is being reframed to hang in this bedroom.
This little tree is my garden tree. It is over the stairway to the downstairs family room. All of it’s ornaments are garden related.
The last tree I am showing in this blog is in the family room downstairs. In future posts I will show the direction this room is going. But suffice it to say this tree fits right into the theme.
Final thoughts:
It is nearly Christmas and all through the world Christians are preparing their hearts and minds to celebrate Christ’s birthday. Most of my friends, myself and most of you have reached out to someone less fortunate and so, with Tiny Tim, I can say, “God bless us, Everyone.”
